Quality Assurance Specialist

We are recruiting a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our Quality team based at our food manufacturing site in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. Reporting to the Quality Manager, they will join a team of 3 colleagues to play a critical role in supporting the Food Safety and Quality Management on site.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Food Safety and Quality Certification Audits on Site (FSSC22000, ISO9001, RSPO, MSC, Organic)  
  • Support Customer complaint investigation and Non-Conformance Management on site.
  • Support Quality Assurance activities such as writing of Operational Procedures, and Specifications. 
  • Oversee Supplier Non-Conformance Management on site. 
  • Support on site Internal Audit program and outputs
  • Support client questionnaire completion via our online portal
  • Liaise with internal teams within dsm-firmenich in Global Regulatory Services, Corporate Quality and Trade Compliance as well as Sustainability teams. 
  • Work with other departments to ensure food safety and quality.
  • Be an active member of the quality team, helping support and improve standards on site through continuous improvement. 
  • To initiate actions within the food safety management system
  • Ensure effective communication of Food Safety issues, ensuring understanding by all personnel whose activities have an impact on food safety

You Bring:

  • Understanding of Quality Assurance
  • Qualification in Food Science or Equivalent desirable 
  • Knowledge of internal auditing
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and FSSC22000 management systems
  • Knowledge and experience of HACCP
  • A good team player with the ability to make decisions under pressure and negotiate technical issues with suppliers and clients
