Technical Category Manager, Beverage

Location: Shanghai, China

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop new Beverage formulations based on industrial standards and country specific requirements 
  • Select and evaluate the right flavor solution in compliance with legal, costs, clients & applications requirements
  • Understand the commercial needs of the brief, the value and price criteria and become technical contact for certain key clients/categories. Prepare and lead client's technical presentations and visit clients
  • Establish new protocols for use/stability of ingredients/flavors or laboratory equipment. Run stability tests and check flavor solubility according to established protocol
  • Secure the project execution including cross functional teams. Work in a close collaboration with account managers, category teams (flavourist and marketing), other departments.
  • Manage various administrative internal systems/tasks related to projects briefs and keep daily record on laboratory work and results. Realize analysis (Brix, pH…) with laboratory equipment’s. Respect good laboratory practices following established HSE rules

  • Technical background in Food Science/Food Industry with at least 5 years of professional experience in a food or flavor industry in the category defined
  • Good command of English and Chinese;
  • Willing to travel;
  • Capable of handling multiple projects in a methodical manner, within short deadlines;
  • Pro-active, autonomous and able to take initiatives; Strong strategic and analytical thinking;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; enthusiastic, open-minded and good team player;
