Senior Scientist, Analytical Chemistry

Location: Minhang District, Shanghai, China

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead/contribute to multidisciplinary innovation programs by providing insights and data from an analytical chemistry perspective.
• Develop and apply analytical methods for various materials related to the flavor and fragrance industry, including natural flavor and fragrance materials, and ingredients of consumer products (e.g. foods and body/home care products).
• Identify opportunities and technical gaps through understanding of market needs and strategic thinking, and contribute to the company’s innovation pipeline for new ingredients and technologies.
• Play an active role in a global analytical team active on three continents through discussions and leadership on specific areas.
• Identify potential academic/industrial partners for collaboration programs, and lead them.
• Supervise and develop technicians.

We value:

• PhD in analytical chemistry. Several years of professional experience in a research function, preferably in a field related to flavors and fragrances, including food industry and body/home care industry, or pharmaceutical/specialty chemicals industry.
• Solid knowledge/experience in chemical analysis including sample preparation, method development and validation based on GC, GC/MS, HPLC, and LC/MS.
• Track record of continuously bringing in innovative ideas and converting them to research projects.
• Track record of independently leading and delivering complex/interdisciplinary projects. Leadership skills, capability to develop people and inspire colleagues.
• Proficient in English, being able to effectively lead/participate in discussions/collaborations with international teams. Excellent team spirit, communication skills and networking capacity. 
• Skills and knowledge in modern data processing methods/techniques. Knowledge and experience in programming is a plus.
