Scientist - Process Engineering

Location: Shanghai, China

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Initiate and lead research projects to develop and industrialize processes and technologies for natural extraction and enrichment of compounds for flavor and perfumery applications.
  • Optimize the processes to improve sensory quality and cost effectiveness. Scale up processes and assist in technology transfer to pilot and production.
  • Manage short/long - term R&D projects, collaboration across the organization and/or external partners.
  • Assess the value of new purification technologies as potential contributors to our business.
  • Serve as a global technical resource for separation processes and natural products process development.
  • Report own work in the form of research reports, presentations and publications at project meetings, thus contributing to decision-making processes. Provide support to the Group Leader and manage the work of laboratory technicians.

 

We value:

 

  • Ph.D in food engineering, chemical engineering or related field with minimum 3-year experience, not limited to Post-doctor.
  • Industrial experience in natural products processing will be strong asset.
  • Thorough understanding of chemical process unit operations and chemical engineering fundamentals. In-depth knowledge and good hands-on experience in separation process and technology. Strong expertise and experience in process development, optimization and scaling-up.
  • Analytical thinking and critical problem solving capability.Resourceful, creative, energetic, highly motivated, idea generator, able to work independently.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to safe work practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and cross functional collaboration spirit, with fluency in English and Mandarin.
