Scientist,Organic Chemistry-San Diego, California

Key Responsibilities:
• Work with minimal supervision to carry out research projects, track milestones and report progress
• Design and synthesize active organic molecules in mg to gram quantities
• Perform isolation and qualitative characterization of organic molecules using traditional and state-of-the-art separation and analytical techniques (e.g. HPLC, NMR, MS…)
• Build and analyze SAR to support lead optimization campaigns
• Participate in the preparation of publications and patent applications
• May supervise associates

 

Requirements:
• PhD in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of professional or postdoctoral research experience
• Ability to apply scientific principles and cutting-edge chemistry methodologies to design and execute multistep synthesis of organic molecules
• Ability to analyze relevant data to design organic molecules with desired biological activity and physicochemical properties
• Outstanding technical and communication skills
• Masters level candidates with 4 or more years of experience and exceptional track record of relevant achievements will also be considered
