Pay range - $21-24/hr

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an Intern join the Science & Research team based in San Diego, CA. The Intern in Sensory Science will complete a wide variety of activities to support our research projects involving the discovery of novel flavor ingredients.  We provide unique learning opportunities for interns to conduct independent projects with guidance from our research scientists and get hands-on experience in a real-world laboratory setting. This position will be part-time/5 days per week.

Your key responsibilities

  • Design taste tests for training new panelists
  • Prepare samples using analytical balances and dilutions
  • Execute sensory testing and collect data
  • Analyze results and makes recommendations
  • Sample testing such as density and pH measurements
  • Set up and clean up before/after panel activities

You bring

  • Pursuing or completed a BS degree in Life Sciences preferred, including Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related science(s)
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office; ability to learn internal software programs
  • Attention to detail, a high level of organization, and ability to follow SOPs
  • Good math skills with ability to make calculations regularly
  • Ideal candidate will be eager, energetic, reliable and self-motivated and ability to work independent
