Training Specialist, Perfumery - Princeton, NJ

Key Responsibilities:

  • This position is designed to provide training to the Perfumery, Flexarome, Perfumery Sample, Fragrance, Alcohols Solutions and Fragrance Sample production teams, and is designed to provide field training to Operators on all QHSE procedures and any modified or new standard operating procedures.
  • Significant floor time is expected to engage Operators, Group Leads and Shift Leads on proper methods and techniques, understanding the processing equipment.
  • The Training Specialist will work closely with the operators to draw learnings and best practices to continuously improve existing operating procedures, and create new when needed.  A key deliverable of this position will be to understand current operating procedures, and engage the operating teams to provide input to standardize procedures and subsequently work to improve and upgrade all SOP’s in a methodical and systematic manner.
  • In addition, this position will also work closely with LEAN Continuous Improvement Leaders to develop and document new procedures, task lists, quick guides and other tools to aid operations in knowledge transfer.
  • Establishing training schedules for each shift for efficient and effective training to occur, fully integrated into the production schedule.
  • Tracking cross-training and providing training completion records to the Site Training Leader and Human Resources.
  • Develop system(s) to monitor and execute required initial Operator Training and Refresher training.
  • Participation in root cause analysis when needed for safety and quality related incidents.
  • Assist in developing training programs or methods of training, prepare updates to current programs, and revise materials as needed.



  • Minimum 3-5 years of chemical operating and production/manufacturing experience.
  • Understanding and compliance with emergency and safety procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of G.M.P’s (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Knowledge of H.A.C.C.P (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points
  • Must have solid organizational skills, ability to communicate effectively to all functional teams, good presentation skills, willingness to modify work schedule as needed to execute training to all shifts.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to be on your feet 60% - 90% of the day;
  • Frequently lift a 35 lb. product hose;
  • Frequently move, lift, pull & push up to 50 lbs.;
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE). 
  • Willingness and ability to work in a facility with minimal temperature control, exposed to local temperature variations (hot & cold);
  • Must have the ability to operator a forklift.
