GM-Commercial Lead- Scentmate North America

The GM - Commercial Lead will drive the launch and the expansion within North America of  Scentmate by Firmenich, a new digital-first  fragrance house which was successfully launched in Europe 18 months ago as start-up incubated within Firmenich .  The GM will be accountable for delivering Firmenich profitable growth strategy (and share growth) in fast-growing customer segments while creating unique capabilities to help support all perfumery customers.  We offer location flexibility for this role to be based ideally in Princeton, NJ, New York City, or California.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Contribute to set the strategy to profitably accelerate Firmenich group market share with new growing customer segments and execute with excellence the strategy to launch and quickly grow Scentmate in NAM
  • Manage Scentmate regional P&L in line with business case assumptions
  • Monitor and project operational costs and make relevant adjustment if necessary. Gauge business impact and share them with Scentmate global leadership for prioritization.
  • Create and drive regional strategy by understanding sales dynamics, teams’ feedback and continuous client discovery.
  • Enforce strategy and teamwork culture through OKRs. For this the GM will be expected to nominate an OKR champion and foster the top-down bottom-up exercise at yearly and quarterly level
  • Represent Scentmate with aligned messages at industry events, regional journalist interviews, tradeshows and clients on/off site visits
  • Connect with high-level officers within the client’s organization and set the tone for the client pitch and act as a reference for the regional sales team
  • Constantly identify gaps and shape business cases for new and unexplored commercial areas

  • Work experience in Commercial (sales and Marketing) roles and strategy/finance/consulting
  • Experience in managing teams of over 10 people
  • Previous P&L responsibilities
