Sr. Business Controller- Princeton, NJ



We currently have an immediate opportunity for a Senior Business Controller join our Finance Division in our Princeton office, NJ USA. Within the Firmenich world, our Controlling team is a business partner with a seat at the table to our commercial and innovation teams. This position will lead Financial Planning & Analysis activities for Innovation & Naturals Platform and serve as a senior manager and strategic partner to the business. This role will operate in a matrix organization and report directly to the VP Group Controller of the Division.


Key Responsibilities:
• Drive the financial performance of the Naturals Platform and Innovation community to support improvements in value creation and sustainability goals.
• Ensure the decision-making process is sustained by figures validated by controlling, be it for monthly activities, latest estimates, budget or business cases for investments and strategic scenarios
• Provide monthly performance analysis of portfolio versus Prior, Forecast and Budget. Challenge the team on the performance and margins, and work with the business and regional business controller team to come up with solutions to address pricing, margins and expense issues, working capital requirement
• Ensure timely and accurate quarterly forecasts (revenues, expenses and investments) with business partners for Innovation, Naturals Platform and Strategic team.
• Partner with the Group Controller of the Division and his team to execute the strategy for the business and aligns it with the corporate strategy. Prioritizes actions and investments and establishes KPIs to track implementation progress.

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field. CPA/CMA/MBA preferred.
• 5-10+ years of progressively responsible controlling, accounting and finance experience for a major company or division of a large manufacturing corporation in a multicultural environment. Experience in the food & beverage business a plus.
• Prior Controlling and Finance staff supervisory experience.
• Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (IFRS).
• Knowledge of Statutory accounting principles.
• Proficient in advanced Excel, SAP and ERP tools
