Food Technologist - Princeton, NJ

Key Responsibilities:

•Manage/coordinate flavor applications and associated technical activities for diverse innovation projects/initiatives for F&B clients.
•Develop food & beverage applications independently to showcase Firmenich flavors and technologies
•Autonomously plan and execute day to day project and lab activities for sensory and stability studies.
•Design and execute experiments to identify key advantages of our technologies
•Maintain an organized, clean and safe laboratory environment
•Facilitate lab maintenance, building and environmental safety standards as required
•Work closely with R&D community to identify opportunities and translate them into commercial applications
•Work on strategic innovation projects with select clients
•Be the go to person for all technical information on our technologies and new innovations.
•Project management - Manage innovation projects and champion required actions to meet project objectives
•Create new product concepts based on trends for proactive presentations
•Participate in work sessions with clients
•Keep abreast of technical knowledge in terms of ingredients, formulations and processes relating to new food and beverage trends
•Leverage internal and external resources to bring insight, expertise and efficiency into project executions
•Establish and maintain network of pertinent working relationships with technical community


•5+ years with Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science/Chemistry/Science Technology or equivalent
•3+ Master’s degree preferred with flavor/food industry experience working in flavor applications and/or product development capacities
•Hands on experience working with standard food science lab instruments to pilot equipments
•Good knowledge of sensory methodologies is a plus
•Demonstrated technical track record in working with new technologies and innovations
•Ability to travel as needed (<10%)
