Product Development Lead, Beverages-Princeton,NJ

Key Responsibilities:

  • Excels in product formulation: Ingredient functionality and interactions with a strong understanding of Design of experiments.
  • Strong understanding of UHT/HTST processing specific to Microthermics equipment.
  • Proficient in food processing, unit operations (Pilot equipment operation and troubleshooting), material characterization techniques, and nutritional labeling.
  • Leads working sessions and technical to technical customer interactions.
  • Directly supports customers with finished product designs from concept to bench top and industrial scale-up. 
  • Demonstrates knowledge of flavor technologies & ingredients, performance in applications and interactions.
  • Works with external collaborators such as academic institutions and business partners to accelerate product development process.
  • Stays informed on relevant industry trends/new ingredients & technologies.
  • Mentors Junior Technologists and provides training on pilot plant equipment use and analytical techniques.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or Masters in a related field preferred.
  • 5 + years of experience in Beverage product development.
  • Strong understanding of Thermal processing (pasteurization, HTST, UHT, and retort) and carbonation.
  • Knowledge of G.M.P’s (Good Manufacturing Practices), FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) and H.A.C.C.P (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Good presentation skills including ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audience.
  • Ability to design experiments.
  • Must have computer skills, i.e. MS Office, Outlook, Excel, SAP, and Nutritional labeling software.
  • Strong Project Management skills.
