Responsible for maintaining the core and shell of all Firmenich facilities and infrastructure within the scope of Group Real Estate & Workplaces, as well as keeping the property in a condition that is consistent with world-class expectations across North America. Develops strategic programs for energy, infrastructure assets, buildings and projects while working through an Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) partner. Understands complex infrastructure environments of offices, laboratories, storage facilities and chemical manufacturing. Manages stakeholders and service delivery through a small internal team complemented by an IFM partner as well as vendor solutions for expertise.
As a Senior Manager of Hard Services for Workplace services, you’ll be responsible for the management and oversight of all hard services associated with our portfolio of office & lab buildings. Hours will vary with service or project requirements and the role is expected to be primarily on site as it supports the facilities & business unit personnel. You’ll be supported by your team with the possibility to grow into a director level or beyond and directly impact the quality of our facilities & services provided to business personal and our customers – helping to maintain the safety and quality of our facilities.

Your key responsibilities
- Management of Hard Services planning & execution activities including reconciling planned to actual outcomes with a focus on continuous improvement initiatives ensuring that all Hard Service operations comply with federal, state and local government laws, as well as Firmenich Company policies, procedures, certifications and guidelines.
- Develop equipment strategies for infrastructure, including identifying critical components, parts lists, parts strategies, and equipment monitoring requirements and improvement opportunities.
- Maintain an Energy Management program through the proper monitoring of equipment operations, tracking of energy usage and capital planning/execution optimizing equipment and/or systems.
- Contribute to and lead larger project development to support broader infrastructure projects that will span a variety of trades as well as management of small project planning & execution through on-site teams including internal staff, IFM partners & trade vendors.
- Development of overall budgets for Hard Services and responsibility for delivery of the budget actively contributing to improving the planning, scheduling, and optimization of the Hard Services process by developing and reviewing reliability and availability data & KPI’s.
- Provide regular reporting on Hard Services operations to the relevant stakeholders and vendor partner on availability & reliability data through the Governance process.

You bring
- Experience: minimum 10 years of industry experience in facility management / building maintenance.
- Training/Education: a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or equivalent Technical degree including familiarity with and ability to knowledgably direct skilled trades such as, but not restricted to: building engineers, electricians, plumbers-pipe fitters. Appropriate trade certifications are a plus.
- Knowledge: of commercial and corporate real estate building systems maintenance and the ability to read / understand building drawings such as single line electrical drawings, HVAC, plumbing and the like.
- Business Awareness: demonstrated commitment to health and safety, sustainability, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
- Inspiring Leadership: good organizational, interpersonal & supervisory skills, the ability to prioritize tasks / respond to emergencies including exceptional stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent Communication: proficient in English reading, writing and speaking as well as skilled in MS Suite with expertise in Word and Excel required and experience with PowerPoint.
