Data Specialist – modelling, analysis, migration

6 months position

Location: Paris (Neuilly-sur-Seine), France

Key Responsibilities:

Work with the Encyclopedia application team, to accelerate modelling, analysis and migration of critical business data sets. 

• Analyze, document, model the legacy relational data base
  • Identify key attributes, identifiers, tables ;
  • Evaluate data quality and consistency ;
  • Optimize data extract / data preparation scripts
• Support business teams for data cleaning and data preparation efforts
  • Provide scripting and automation
  • Evaluate innovative options for text cleanup (clustering, summary, mapping)
• Propose a data Extract / Transform / Load (ETL) approach to migrate data from the legacy solution to the new solution
  • Test ETL automation
• Map legacy model to new model
• Co-ordinating between Business Data Team, Data Migration Team & Application Development team to ensure approach, scripts, automation is aligned and integrated in the overall product lifecycle

Encyclopedia is a Perfume & Frangrance database capturing hundreds of characteristics of more than 150,000 products. The solution relies on relational (SQL) and unstructured databases (no-SQL). Datasets include vast amount of data values, descriptors, text / free-text and images collected over more than a decade.
