Account Manager

Taste and Beyond – Full time – Permanent

Report to: Vice President South – Taste & Beyond

Location: France, Paris


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage key customers for the region. Deliver sales growth and margin targets.
  • Understand account objectives, develop commercial strategy, implement through account plan.
  • Identify and document business potentials, competitive landscape new business opportunities, decision factors, success criteria and define action plans accordingly
  • Build the account sales budget annually, monitor sales and profitability versus objectives
  • Develop and build successful working relationship throughout customers organization’s within R&D, Sales, Procurement, Marketing and Quality. Establish Firmenich as key partner
  • Get clear and complete briefing from clients. Issue comprehensive action reports as per clients briefs and proactively manage the project pipeline
  • Negotiate with clients favorable commercial terms, including payment terms, prices for new business and increases for existing items
  • Efficiently communicate with all internal partners: product life cycle management, demand planning, customer care and supply chain to ensure highest customer satisfaction and maximum value extraction

We value :

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business or chemistry
  • Minimum 3 years in flavors/ingredients/fragrance sales experience 
  • Business acumen (pricing, sales & profitability, expenses, overdues...)
  • Ability to develop strategic plans, define, prioritize and implement action plans
  • Highly driven and motivated by the commercial aspect and the proactive sales
  • Ability to drive for results, with a competitive mindset
  • Opportunistic with “hunter” mindset and agile in a complex matrix organization
  • Self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluent in English
