Utility Supervisor
Key Responsibities:
- Ensure the facility’s utility supply through daily monitoring and management of the plant utility system operations.
- Maintain high on-time reliability of all of the facility’s utilities including: steam boilers, chillers, air compressors, cooling towers, process water systems, hot oil systems, plant fire protection systems, and hot glycol systems through close communication with the facility’s maintenance and engineering departments.
- In conjunction with the maintenance, ensure maintenance procedures for all utilities systems are rigorously implemented
- Ensure there is an adequate supply of critical spare parts for all utilities and support systems by working in close cooperation with the maintenance department.
- Troubleshoot and correct the facility’s utility systems problems in conjunction with production and engineering.
- Ensure periodic training of utility operators to maintain and improve skills required in the performance of their activities.
- Ensure that the site’s utility systems are operated and maintained in a manner consistent with both Firmenich and filial specific safety policies and procedures and all regulatory requirements.
- Ensure boiler coverage at all times during plant operation
- Provide monthly reporting on energy usage, utility costs and performance KPI
- Evaluate and implement new technology to ensure peak operating efficiency and lowest operating costs
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Computer literate in Microsoft Office and Excel, and CMMS systems.
- Proficient in interfacing with and troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic controls and instrumentation for boilers, chillers, air compressors and associated equipment.
- Required:
- High School diploma with a technology training school diploma or certification.
- Minimum of ten (10) year's high-pressure boiler and utilities operating experience in chemical industry operating continuously on a 24/7 coverage.
- Experience in managing operations of high pressure, gas and oil-fired boilers.
- Familiar with strategic maintenance requirements for motive power equipment including cooling towers, chillers, air compressors and hot oil systems.
- Certificate & Licenses:
- Current N.J. Red Seal Stationary Engineer Operators license for high pressure boilers.
