NMR Specialist

As a successful applicant, you will join our Analytical Sciences department in Geneva. You will be involved in all practical and organizational aspects of an NMR research laboratory dedicated to the analysis of molecules and polymers as well as the development of new NMR methods, from sample preparation to data processing.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Programming and application of automation tools for NMR interpretation
  • Development and maintenance of NMR databases and expert systems
  • Programming of UNIX shell scripts and macros
  • Optimization of NMR workflows
  • Measurement and interpretation of one and two-dimensional NMR spectra for polymer characterization as well as structure elucidation and verification
  • Application of Deep Learning to NMR data and interpretation
  • Participate in cross functional and collaborative research in interdivisional and international projects as well as in collaborations with Universities


You bring:

  • PhD or Post-doctoral degree with hands-on experience in NMR spectroscopy
  • Sound knowledge in organic chemistry of related fields
  • Preferably at least 5 years of professional experience
  • Strong programming capacities in Python and others. Knowledge in PipelinePilot is considered a plus
  • Profound knowledge in Molecular Modeling and calculation of NMR chemical shifts
  • Familiar with LINUX and MS Windows based environments
  • Knowledge about Machine Learning methods is an asset
  • Excellent team spirit, communication and organization skills and networking capacity
  • Fluent in English, fluent in French is considered a plus
