Advise and provide Communications support to the Chief Science & Research Officer, managing development and implementation of Communications plans. This position is responsible for effectively conveying both, the S&R and Group Communications objectives, promoting innovation, fostering employee engagement and communicating strategy and change. The position plays a pivotal role to provide compelling stories on our innovation power and S&R excellence to engage and inspire all employees and external audiences.

Your key responsibilities
- Advise and counsel the Chief Science & Research Officer to enable effective communications of functional and corporate goals, priorities and change
- Develop a compelling narrative and stories that convey the S&R strategy, successes and impact
- Develop and execute communication plans to inform, engage and inspire S&R employees
- Enable and support S&R leaders for public speaking and interview opportunities
- Shape agenda & messaging and facilitate S&R events, town halls & key internal meetings
- Act as custodian of the corporate branding and values and ensure consistent messaging
- Ensure and drive two-way communication between Group Communications and S&R through stories, best practice sharing and raising functional needs and issues

You bring
- An academic degree in Communications or Business
- Track record in working with and consulting C-level managers
- 10 years of wide-ranging experience in a corporate communications and collaboration with S&R
- High level of seniority, given contacts with executive management
- Adeptness in translating complex concepts into engaging, easy to understand stories
- Personal characteristics: communicative, networker, flexible, diplomatic, strategic, cope with high pressure, professional, representative, persuasive, pro-active and culturally sensitive
Important notes
This job title is temporary and will be adjusted once the job grading structure for the new Group will be adopted (covering among others: grades’ design, job evaluations, calibration, and job titles’ nomenclature). Until these adjustments are finalized, current compensation packages will be grandfathered for those whose new position turns out to be graded lower than their current position. This temporary period will last not more than 24 months for the legacy DSM Executives or legacy FIR SLT members, and not more than 12-18 months for all other employees from the moment the candidate moves into their new position.
