Consumer & Sensory Insights Manager

Location: Louvain-Neuve, Belgium

Mission: 

Consumer and Sensory Insights (CSI) is a key contributor to the success of Firmenich solutions and ultimately to the creation of tasteful products that delight consumers and create positive emotions.
This role will manage a portfolio of Consumer and Sensory Insights projects in support of creative teams, business teams, and clients to drive Firmenich's business objectives. This position supports the European region and has a key focus on Cold Beverages, but may extend to other categories as business conditions require. 


Key Responsibilities:

•    Support EUR key projects by recommending and applying appropriate Consumer and Sensory Insights (CSI) methodologies, working closely with the EUR CSI team and the business teams (marketing, technical, creation, sales)
•    Execute Consumer and Sensory research studies, including design, execution, analysis using relevant visuals and statistical models, and reporting of results
•    Partner with business teams to create and deliver proactive projects aligned with client needs
•    Build efficient partnerships with the EUR business teams to collaboratively deliver winning Taste & Beyond solutions 
•    Communicate clear insights to internal and external clients; develop network relationships with junior and mid-level CSI counterparts at clients
•    Ensure continuous improvement of Firmenich CSI tools & approaches by developing productive networking with CSI counterparts internally (global and regional) and externally.

 

We value:

•    Master’s degree or equivalent in Food Science with a minimum of 5 years confirmed experience in a similar role from FMCG, F&F House, Market Research Industry
•    Prior experience in interacting with external agencies (Consumer and Sensory)
•    Expertise in a wide range of Consumer Research techniques:
           o    Specific knowledge of Standard Sensory Methods (DA, DISCRIM), as well as Advanced Sensory Methods (FCP, Napping,…)
           o    Specific knowledge of Consumer Research Methods, particularly Consumer Product & Concept Testing (CLT, HUT), Qualitative Research. Advanced Methods is a plus (Drivers of Liking, Conjoint, Turf, DoE)
•    Solid knowledge of statistical methods as applied to sensory testing and consumer research; experience with key software such as FIZZ, XLSTAT, SensoMineR 
•    Soft skills: team-oriented, solution-oriented, ability to manage projects creatively, ability to communicate clearly and efficiently
