Quality Control Technician, Lakeland, Fl

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the receipt of samples as they are logged into Quality Control.
  • Analyze raw material, in-process, and finished product samples according to established SOP's.
  • Analyze raw material, in-process, and finished product samples via GC and GCMS according to established SOP's.
  • Retrieval and use of valid Quality Control retains as references.
  • Participate in, and lead daily Flavor sensory evaluation panels per established SOP's
  • Files all retains at conclusion of sample testing cycle.
  • Provides Sensory Support in both preparation and evaluation of ingredients and finished products.
  • Prioritize / separate samples and organize their testing per established SOP's.
  • Prepare micro samples for shipment per established SOP's for 3rd party testing.
  • Runs reports and flashpoints as needed. Create, update and write procedures, both testing and QC policies analysis.

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's degree required preferably within the following disciplines (Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Food Science, Food Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry).
  • Experience with GC, GCMS is preferred, with Flavors and/or Fragrance experience.
  • Technically proficient in the following standard chemical procedures and physical measurements (wet chemistry): GC, GCMS, FTIR, HPLC,NMR, pH, acid value, peroxide value, oil content, water content, specific gravity, refractive index, Tg, optical rotation, salt content, solid content, color, ester value and other standard tests.
  • Proficiency with MS Office: Word, Excel and standard MS office software.
  • LIMS and/or SAP experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
