The role of 'Site Controller' will report into the Finance Operations Head and partner with the leadership team of the Houdan site. There are two full-time employees reporting to this role. Exceptional opportunity that adds in one (a) full finance responsibility of a high-growth, dynamic production site (b) team experience (c) ERP implementation (d) opportunity to re-design the finance function of the site end to end.


The Houdan site supports the manufacturing of postbiotics under various brands such as Lacteol, which was previously under the ownership of Adare Biome.  dsm-firmenich acquired the Adare business as of July 1, 2023, and is currently in the process of integration.


  • In a first phase, this position will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the site: financial management, including financial planning and analysis, accounting (local/statutory and IFRS), working capital / cash management, capital allocation, taxes and treasury operations.
  • In a second phase, this role will add the Lead of the implementation of SAP in Finance in Houdan site (estimated to start by mid-2024) and have the opportunity to re-shape the Finance tasks done on-site.

Your key responsibilities

  • Be the Finance business partner to the site and Plant Manager. Provide insights and constructive challenges to the decision-making process for the relevant topics in the site.
  • Transform the Finance function of the site by leading the implementation of SAP implementation of procedures and processes, as well as re-shaping of the Finance tasks done on-site.
  • Be the first Finance contact for any plant operational management requests (Business cases, DICI transformations, business performance analysis)
  • Drive performance management for the operations/site in scope (financial reports, actuals, budget, forecast,...).
  • Own product costing/raw material/cycle design & output consumption analysis, inventory, capex of the site. Direct the annual budget and forecast process.
  • Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (French and IFRS). Consolidation and reporting to the Group.
  • Manage a team of 2 experienced professionals on day-to-day Finance operations including owning actuals and coordinating external audit and local legal and tax compliance and Group reporting.
  • Manage cash flow  and forecasting and ensure an adequate control of all the treasury matters
  • Develop, implement and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the site board of directorsDirect and control site finance staff in accounts payable, receivable, to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and developed (2 direct reports)

You bring

  • Educational level –Bachelor degree; Master (optional) – CPA/DCG a plus
  • Can-do attitude. Experience in managing a small team.
  • 5-10 years of financial operations experience, with track record for increased responsibilities. Experience in any of the following functions: finance, accounting, controlling or audit. Experience with French and IFRS in an international environment
  • Strong data analysis experience, demonstrating the ability to understand business needs, obtain & validate data, interpret results, root cause anomalies and generate results.
  • Solid time/project management skills and demonstrated ability to balance multiple tasks.
  • Ability to manage local French compliance and be the main point of contact for external auditors.
  • Experience working in an SAP environment and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills required; Experience with Microsoft AX and Cognos TM1 is a plus
  • Fluent in French and English
  • Based in or within commuting distance of Houdan (Yvelines), France.
