Technology & Process Engineering Senior Manager

This role will be focused to support sustainable innovative technologies and safe processes, driving our operations toward an agile manufacturing footprint by sharing expertise within the organization and leveraging networks, provide Manufacturing Process & Technology leadership across the business divisions, through a center of expertise & expert network, to achieve greater strategic and operational efficiency, synergies and performance improvements

 

This role will be reporting to the Global Lead of the Powder Technology platform, who is based in Geneva and this role will be based at Firmenich manufacturing plant at Karawang (KIIC)

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Leadership:

  • Support the Technology expertise center and expert network to ensure the delivery of its operational and strategic targets

 

Strategic:

  • Responsible for Technology Scouting in- and outside our industry to ensure Firmenich is constantly leveraging latest developments

 

Operational: Process/Technology optimization

  • Lead a technology global expert network (Durarome) with the objective to continuously improve technology expertise and share knowledge within the technical community. Support global technology platform on reaction flavors and other food technology applications
  • Support identification and evaluation of new technologies relevant for the domain (technology scouting) and partner with external institutes and equipment suppliers.

 

New Product Introduction (NPI) & Innovation

  • R&D/Innovation: Lead introduction/scale-up of new processes and product ranges with support of engineering

 

Quality and Safety

  • Ensure compliance of our technologies to all regulatory, GMP, safety and environmental requirement

 

We value:

  • Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in engineering food technology, Food Science or Chemical Engineering
  • More than 5 years’ experience in Food or similar Process Industries
  • Knowledgeable in Technology ex. Powder handling, Drying, Mixing, Sieving, Reactions etc.
  • Knowledgeable in Product formulation skills, Process Engineering and modelling/simulation skills, Project management
  • Excellent in handling interdisciplinary complexity (technical solution, number of customers and stakeholders, disciplines, contractors …), influencing up and across and driving change
  • Ability to collaborate with cross functions and lead a network of technology experts
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), French or Spanish is considered a plus
