SAP BASIS Manager

Key Responsibilities:

 

The SAP Manager is responsible for the management of the SAP environment providing technical support and leadership on SAP Basis systems, including establishing standards and requirements, evaluating, and directing enhancements solutions for performance monitoring, and system configuration, design, and implementation. Designs and develops SAP architecture requirements and specifications, in alignment with SAP COE and company strategy to ensure the system is meeting corporate needs.

 

  • Participate and lead in the project planning and delivery of new dimensional SAP systems to meet expanding business requirements of Oracle and SAP HANA Database, SAP Basis components (HANA, SAP Netweaver, ABAP and JAVA).

  • Technical owner of the SAP systems, ensuring that all the SLA are met in regards of systems availability, performance, backup/restore, HA/DR (RTO and RPO).

  • Build and maintain partnership and collaboration with the SAP Center of Excellence team.

  • Technical owner of the S&A profiles of the system/service users in SAP.

  • Technical owner of the SAP Infrastructure hardening and security.

  • Act as liaison between ABAP developers, SAP functional teams and Infrastructure operations teams to gather requirements for business projects and/or provide technical inputs for projects.

  • Maintenance of multi-landscape environments through system refreshes, SAP/Database upgrades and support package campaigns.Lead the technical steam of the SAP software logistics including SAP releases and ChaRM technical support.

  • Oversee the configuration and maintenance of SLD, SOA, CUA and SSO.

  • Research and propose solutions for Basis functionality in the areas of performance monitoring, tuning, and systems configuration using the SAP Best Practice outlined.

  • Act as L3 for SAP basis support in major incidents.

  • Interact with outsourced basis support team based in India to configure, monitor, tune, and troubleshoot the SAP technical environment.

  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, matrix team environment. Collaborative style, customer focused.

  • Ability to estimate budgets, build business cases, lead technical experts in identifying solutions.

  • Prepare and present to senior management proposals and recommendations.

  • 10+ years of overall Sap Basis experience. Ideally in a Management/Lead role.

  • Knowledge of SAP Netweaver ABAP and JAVA, ECC, BW, BW4HANA, SCM (LiveCache), XI/PI, Solution Manager, GRC, SRM, GTS, SAP Cloud Platform

  • HANA 2.0, ORACLE 12, 19 (installation, upgrades, patches, backup and restore)

  • HA/DR, nZDM, DMO, SUM, SWPM, System Copy, OS/DB (R3load)

  • Operating System HP-UX/AIX /Linux RHEL 7 and 8

  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills in a constantly changing environment.

  • Excellent analytical, conceptual thinking, planning, and execution skills

  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)
