IT Operations Support Manager

Location: Barcelona, Spain

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develops and evolves Operational standards and requirements for the service assurance (run) of the existing Windows Technologies and Architectures and able to work closely with Engineering functions to establish and embed Service Transition Processes and Procedures for the overall Windows infrastructure landscape. 
  • Leads on medium to high complexity Technical Operational activities such as Data Centre Server farm refreshes providing technical direction, project management support and coordination with internal IS customers & partner teams outside the function (IBS, GWS, P&A, GSD,…).
  • Develops and delivers an on-going knowledge management strategy that drives up technical acumen and skill amongst IMS Windows Engineers within the Infrastructure Operations function.
  • Devises a framework for on-going Service Continuity as it relates to Windows Services that ensures disaster recovery/service continuity readiness while highlighting service risks or areas for optimization.
  • Researches and develops holistic approach and delivers on plans to drive up levels of Operations of Windows environments, increasing reliability and predictability while reducing overhead and toil.
  • Acts as a Senior Incident and Problem resolution escalation point for Windows Server and Service issues when required. Additionally, supports function Ops. leadership decision making where deep technical Windows environment knowledge input is required

  • 10+ years of professional experience in IT Operations in large, mission critical environments with deep knowledge of implementation within large scale, highly available, on-going management and optimization in 24x7 mission critical environments.
  • Exceptional experience of server and Windows infrastructure service monitoring, performance tuning and sizing for various workload types along with strong understanding of networking and network security concepts, TCP/IP and common local area network protocols.
  • Strong experience with business continuity concepts and design techniques as applied to highly critical services and related disaster recovery planning and testing. Ability to think strategically, research and develop innovative solutions while possessing a strong bias for action to realize tangible results.
  • Possesses exceptional communication and documentation skills to be able to interact professionally and work productively with all levels of employees acting as a team player with extensive track record in technical mentoring and knowledge sharing with Engineers.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve Business Information Services (IBS) practices, procedures and/or IT Application landscape support.
