Maintenance Manager | DRT America | Rincon, GA.


The Maintenance Manager will have ownership of the maintenance department and provide leadership for the manufacturing maintenance programs.  Specific responsibilities include, scheduling, coordinating, overseeing and performing maintenance of manufacturing equipment, administering maintenance records, coordinating and overseeing contractor activities, and training maintenance personnel.



1. Directly managing three (3) employees in the Maintenance Department including one I&E Technician and two Plant Mechanics.

2. Monitoring performance and providing feedback to direct reports through formal and informal performance feedback; regularly communicating with staff to achieve mutual understanding and desired results.

3. Develop and execute the yearly maintenance plan and budget

4.Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

5. Planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance rewarding and disciplining employees; address complaints and resolve problems.

6. Managing and improving the preventative maintenance program in order to reduce reactive maintenance and minimize unplanned downtime. 

7. Implementing and tracking the effectiveness of preventive maintenance. 

8. Consistently improving housekeeping at the facility.

9. Managing departmental resources to support achievement of plant objective. 

10. Assisting in the planning and execution of large maintenance projects and shutdown work. 

11. Identifying and initiating continuous process improvements to reduce costs related to equipment downtime. 

12. Collaborating with plant management to identify, develop and execute major capital/maintenance projects.

13. Analyzing operational problems and developing modifications in design to improve efficiency.

14. Controlling the maintenance storeroom and ensuring that critical spare parts are identified, stocked, and managed to reduce downtime while minimizing inventory.

15. Interpreting piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs), isometric drawings, schematics, and technical drawings.

16. Attending and actively participating in all safety and production meetings.



  •  Skills in electrical, PLC, carpentry, welding, pipefitting, machinery alignment, millwright, plumbing, rigging, hydraulics, use of hand and power tools.
  •  Mechanical experience including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  •  Knowledge of various ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  •  Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with various departments. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others.  


  • High School Diploma or GED; and one-year certificate from a college or technical school; or 10+ years’ work experience in a manufacturing environment with increasing responsibility in a related industry may be substituted for the above. 
  • Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools, shop equipment and machine tools.
  • Ability to inspect equipment, recognize potential problems and independently take appropriate corrective action to prevent component failures or equipment down time.
  • Proven leadership, management and supervisory experience is required.
  • Ability to plan and direct the work of your assigned direct reports.
  •  Ability to walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material (up to 55 lbs) on a daily basis.
  •  Experience working in a small plant environment (i.e. less than 40 people) is a strong plus. 
  •  Willing to work alone a high percentage of the time.
  •  Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), to include respiratory protection up to and including supplied air and/or SCBA.
  •  Demonstrated understanding of safety, health environmental, quality systems, and regulatory compliance guidelines  
  •  Must be 18 years or age with a valid driver’s license. 
  •  Must be able to successfully complete a post-offer pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check.
